Ajax manager Frank de Boer believes that managing Liverpool would be a better prospect than taking over Barcelona. De Boer has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants and also Tottenham but the former Dutch international has spoken highly about the Liverpool project.

When Liverpool were looking for a new manager to take over from Kenny Dalglish, De Boer was apparently one of the names mentioned for the job but in the end Brendan Rodgers got it. Now with De Boer continuing to do well at Ajax, he continues yet again to be linked with clubs across Europe.

De Boer is being heavily linked with joining Barcelona next season but the Dutchman doesn’t believe the Catalan giants would be the right fit for him.

“As for the football, the club is a match for me,” De Boer was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur when asked about Barcelona.

“But do you really think I can teach them? Players like Messi, Neymar, Iniesta, Xavi and Alves? In the club you are more of a people manager.

“Then it would have been more fun to go to Liverpool, since there was improvement to make. Look where Brendan Rodgers is now with the club.”

It is flattering to hear this from De Boer but I think he missed his chance to join Liverpool when Rodgers took over. With the great work that BR has done at Anfield since his arrival, it is hard to see Rodgers leaving the Reds anytime soon. He has gotten the side playing the type of football that he wants and if he is able to add three of four quality players to the side, we are set for many more good seasons at Anfield.

Human Beings are indeed difficult to gauge. If BR did wrong for LFC, fans demand his sacking; on the other hand, IF BR is doing RIGHT for LFC
