talkSPORT is reporting that Liverpool are set to step up their efforts in signing out of favour Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero during this January transfer window.
The 24-year-old Spanish midfielder is seen as a replacement for the injured Lucas according to the report but from what I have seen of Granero he is more of an attacking midfielder in the mold of Steven Gerrard.
Granero has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid and is deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho and this the speculation that he could be allowed to leave the club for a fee thought to be £8million.
Now whether this is the kind of player Liverpool need to be signing right now is another question. It is clear we have struggled without Lucas but I do not think Granero is the right player to sign to step in for the injured Brazilian. What are your thoughts?
Granero is definitely a type of player Liverpool should look to sign, I think he would be a great Dirk Kuyt replacement considering he can play in any position in midfield and is technically a far superior player to him. Granero isn’t a world class player but he is better than all of Liverpool’s midfield players except for Gerrard and Lucas.
I agree wit you Lion heart.he (Granero) is far better than Hendo and Adam.we need him in our team.
no he’s not bro..we need an defensive minded player.enough with an attacking midfielder..we need only 3 signing.defensive midfielder,right wing,striker. fernando reges, hazard,de jong.adam is a attacking minded with slow pace.to cover him up, we need player like lucas.since lucas is injured,reges is a better replacement for him.
if lfc buy granero it would be better for us all he is a talent but i know once he come to lfc if he make any mistake all of us we hate him just like andy carroll.one more thing jordan henderson is class weather u like it or not

Firstly,we lack creativity in our midfield.i beleive gerrard and henderson can fill lucas place we need a creative mildfielder like ozil and hazard,even granero.secondly,we lack a goal scorer.i think we need either Higuain or soldado.

I think our problem is attacking problem and we need a good striker to partner with suarez like higuin,cavani,benzema,soldado.

I know very little about this Granero guy in Real Madrid cos I barely see him play even during the few times I watched Madrid matches but still, if we think he can truly help the lack of creativity in the midfield, not necessarilybe in the Lucas defensive mould, then we can go for him. I know we are creating chances but at times, we are simply clueless! Get Granero, get a very good defensive midfielder- the likes of C. Tiote and A. Song, a very skillful and credible but not overrated winger like S. Downing but a winger like A. Johnson, E. Hazard and a Clinical forward that would remind us of the El Nino LFC era like D. Ba, R. Soldado, E. Cavani, L. Podolski! I think Darren Bent would only end up to be as useless and overrated as Andy Carroll!

charlie adam is playing in a different position than he is used to during his days in blackpool but for henderson,he is fast rising.For Granero,that will be false.
With players like Sandro or Tiote, Marin or Kagawa,Hazard or A.Johnson and Torres or Cavani, we will be rest assured of lifting EPL next season
eminez- hv u been watch lfc games or asleep. hendo- class? he only passes 5 yards parallel n backwards, cant tackle, position play lost, n once lost the ball cant remember where to run… adam- everybody runs past him..sluggish n slow as snail…carol the camel..wl wait a tear more to give benefit of doubts? gerard n spearing (good range of passes) would do for me (remember end season w/out gerard, jay sp n lucas did excellent job…bellamy n maxi shuld start..downing runs but cant score..we need fast paced wingers, a striker
