[Video] Evidence why he was the best player on the field against Manchester City

Nov 28, 11 [Video] Evidence why he was the best player on the field against Manchester City

Lucas was Liverpool’s top play on Sunday against Manchester City by a long shot. He put in arguably one of his best ever games for the club as we were held 1-1 at home. But take nothing away from Lucas’ contribution:
Lucas and Daniel Agger both triumphed in 100 per cent of their tackles.
Lucas also won far more duels than any other midfielder on 81.3 per cent.
And the Brazilian had most touches for Liverpool with 91. Jose Enrique was next on 88. For City, Gareth Barry was involved most with 93 touches.

Nobody ever had to ‘prove’ John Barnes was a great player. Nor Dalglish, Rush, Keegan etc. The reason is that it was bloody obvious they were. People constantly have to try to demonstrate Leiva is a good player and the reason is clear…he isn’t worth a carrot. So he wins a tackle occasionally. Big deal. He’s paid a bloody fortune to win tackles. When is he going to score or set up a goal? er…never perhaps. Dalglish’s team yesterday included about six people who haven’t scored this season – is it any wonder we struggle to find the back of the net?
