Kenny Dalglish spoke to Liverpoolfc.tv and told us why Aquilani has left Liverpool to go on a season long loan to AC Milan.
“It’s a great move for Alberto. He’s got his wife and kid over there. It was difficult for him here.” Dalglish said.
“When he came back his pre-season training was excellent. We gave him a few games, he did well in those games. But the problem for us was trying to get him in the team. We couldn’t get him in the team.
“Obviously everybody wants to play and Alberto is moving over to a fantastic football club. He goes there with the best wishes of everyone and we hope it works out for him, because he was never a problem in any way, shape or form.”
Surely he is more quicker/creative than Charlie Adam?

In case you hadn’t noticed Dalglish is going for fluidity and if you only have specialists that can only play in one area you will not be a fluid team

Think its for the best, Aquilani clearly wanted to remain in Italy anyway regardless of first team football. He should never have been signed by us in the first place, especially for the price we paid. Hopefuly AC will sign him at the end of this season and we recoup some of the money Rafa wasted on him.

Rafa was good at European football, not so good at English football. That is why we did well in the CL but then failed to qualify for the same competition. Even in 2006 we needed special dispensation to be allowed into the CL!
This all happened because of idiot Roy Hodgson. He sent one of the best players in the squad at the time on loan. He certainly deserve to be a manager of club fighting to avoid relegation.

Aquilani plays in the hole, if you have somebody in this formation you are required to have a specialist defendsive midfielder and not a general midfielder like the ones we have, we’d have to replace Lucas becase he’s not defensive enough to compensate
Suarez would not be as effective because he uses this space so you’d need 2 out and out strikers. Because of the gaps in midfield you couldn’t be so adventurous with a winger either so you’d be wholly dependent on Aquilani and if he was off form or injured we’d struggle and finally when Stevie’s back on th pitch he’d be releagted to a water carrier for Aquilani

these posts always seem to be going the same way, strange… but back to the point, Aqua man is a good player, Kenny knows he’s a good player but he doesn’t fit in, you don’t change a team for one man (if Messi arrives before wed may change my mind) so good luck to Aqua man hope it works out for him. Meanwhile we’ve got to keep on improving and Kenny is shrewd enough to help us do that. (wasn’t joining the Rafa/Kenny debate, both men have LFC at their heart so thats enough said for me)

i’m not a liverpool fan but its not difficult 2 c that apart from Gerrad,acquilani is the only decent midfielder liverpool hav,the rest is mediocre,hez probably 1 of the 3 players @ liverpool who would start in any of the top 4 teams the others ar gerrad n’ suarez
I am a Liverpool fan and I observed Aquilanis quality in Pre-Season Benitez knew what he was doing when he took him. I don’t have faith in Charlie Adams really. Never liked him and apart from a few long passes he hasn’t really impressed me at all. Henderson is fitting in fine, Downing is perfecto. Jose is great but Adams just looks lost some of the time.
