Pepe Reina is back in training

Pepe Reina joined up with the Liverpool squad for pre-season training today (Monday) at Melwood. The Spanish international has not featured for Liverpool this pre-season as he underwent double hernia surgery but it now seems as if he has fully recovered and ready for the start of the season which is a good sign for Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard is not yet fully fit but he was at Melwood today although it did not seem he was doing any intensive training. It had been speculated that Gerrard may miss the start of the season as he continues to recover from his groin injury but there has been no official word out from Liverpool regarding the captains progress.

Alberto Aquilani was also part of the training session today, quashing speculation that he is in Italy finalising a move to Fiorentina. It seems like the Italian has still not been handed a Liverpool squad number for the coming season which continues to raise speculation that he may be leaving the club this summer.
