Charlie Adam scored his first Liverpool goal against the Malaysia XI on Saturday in a pre-season game. Adam opened his account from the penalty spot, a penalty which he admitted after the match that he was not supposed to take but Andy Carroll gave him the opportunity.

Adam put in a decent shift for Liverpool and it was clear to see his passing ability throughout the game. We are set for some good times at Liverpool this coming season with the quality we now have in our midfield.
