Young Jack Robinson put in another solid display for Liverpool when we took on Guangdong in our first pre-season match in China. Granted it was only a 45 minute run out for the young left-back against average opposition but it gives us confidence going forward that we have a good young prospect coming through the ranks.

Robinson broke into the Liverpool first team towards the end of last season due to other players being injured and he barely put a foot wrong. Liverpool still need to buy another left-back this summer who can come in and go straight into the starting lineup whilst Robinson is groomed in the reserve team and has a couple of run-outs in the first team.

ElPistoleroJFT96 has put together a video for us showing Robinson’s performance against Guangdong. What I enjoy about Robinson and Flanagan, when they came into the first team last season, is that they are not afraid to play; they will make runs forward, they will pass with confidence and they will put in crunching tackles no matter who the opposition is.

Robinson looks like an awesome prospect and again credit to the academy team for unearthing yet another gem. He’s fast, comfortable on the ball, strong, intelligent, and for his age is very calm and composed in possession which surely is the hallmark of Rodolfo Borrell.

Not to be negative…..but how in the Hell is Robinson making the first team ahead of Pacheco? Don’t mind Robinson but I just read an article saying we are trying to loan Pacheco out to some useless championship club again. What the hell is going on? He has twice the ability of half the player on the pitch in this game especially spearing, shelvey, robinson, Ngog, Even Kuyt…..don’t get it. So sick of the BS of people saying players aren’t big enough for the premier league…blah, blah, blah. I’d rather a player with control, game awareness, and speed any day over another hard working grafter with no discernible talent. I know every team needs a balance but we don’t have it yet. And personally, with the players we now Have I don’t want to see us sign anybody else when we aren’t using resources like Pacheco.

saddays Pacheco is inconsistent… If he was that good premier league clubs etc would be jumping over them selfs to sign him on loan.

    Saddays,
You are wrong about at least 1 player there mate.
Shelvey is already a far superior player to Pacheco.
Managers obviously think so too, because while last season Pacheco spent his time moderately impressing for Norwich, Shelvey was Kenny’s first choice from the bench until he was injured. (1st choice over experienced internationals at that)
If Pacheco was half as ready to play first team for Liverpool as some people think,
clubs would be clamouring to take him on loan, just like x commented.
He just has not lived up to the promise shown.
That’s not the end of the world – most don’t.
