Liverpool’s pre-season got under way today (Monday) as some players reported back to Melwood to start preparations for the new season. There was some faces that many of us hoped we would not be seeing again in Liverpool colours but because they have not been sold yet or no clubs are interested in them, they are still Liverpool players and thus trained today with Dalglish, Clarke and the new first team coach Kevin Keen. Damien Comolli also popped by into Melwood today to see the lads.

You can visit Liverpoolfc.tv to see some exclusive pictures taken at Melwood today.

The first picture there that caught my attention was Alberto Aquilani. He is now back at Liverpool and if no one buys him this summer then he will be part of Dalglish’s plans for the coming season. Our central midfield is going to boast a lot of talent which gives Dalglish many option. Raul Meireles was also at Melwood today even though there are suggestions that he may be sold to Inter Milan this summer.

Andy Carroll returned to training last week ahead of everyone else in a bid to work extra hard on his fitness. I am not too sure about the new beard he is spotting, I hope it goes by the time the season starts.

Some of us had thought that Kyrgiakos would be surplus to requirements this coming season but he got a 12 month contract extension and we will be seeing the Greek central defender at Liverpool this coming season as he was also at training today.

Daniel Agger was also present and we hope that he can be fit this season and actually spend more time on the field than on the treatment table. He should also have a word with his barber as the new hair style he has leaves a lot to be desired.

We then get to the faces I hoped I would not be seeing at Melwood today, Poulsen, Konchesky and Joe Cole. Someone has to please come and take these players off our books!

A couple of the players who were part of their national team setup at the end of the season and during the summer have been given extra days off and they were not at Melwood today. So when you do not see the likes of Reina, Kuyt and Henderson on the pictures do not panic as they are still on holiday.

Everyone knows we want shut of Cole, Poulson, Koncheski and his mum and the are hanging on waiting for us to just let them go on free’s. Personally I’d put them on a boat sail it into the Middle of the Atlantic, sink it and claim on the insurance.

Have some dignity, Sam and co. Any issues will be dealt with by the club and resolved. No need to moan on and on about issues with players — I thought this was Liverpool FC where we support ours and Never Walk Alone.

  10. Daniel says:

Some of the comments on here are downright embarrassing. Joe Cole is still a very capable player and might be reignited by KK and a new preseason. Insua is still a good prospect despite being overused by Rafa a while back. Poulssen may never work out for Liverpool – but he could also overcome his inauspicious start under Roy. I agree that Ngog and Konchesky look like no hopers – but these are all still our players and we should have a bit of respect for the shirt they wear. Many of them will be moved on – but a couple might stick around and surprise you.

So aside from opinions on a players looks, anything important to tell us ?

  12. Trey says:

@ Tilly, nothing new to tell us yet i guess. Some of the looks are shocking especialy Dagger. I love the pic Carra is talking to Aqua, i wonder what he was telling him, “wat the heck are you doing back here? I thought i would never see you again.”

  13. Darius says:

Keep Cole, he is a quality player!

  14. Kopstick says:

Thank Shankly Aquaman is getting another chance to show some of the fans how insane it was to let him go out on loan. The guy is quality and if Kenny sees what the rest of the people see with regards to his technical ability, then Aqua is staying at Anfield this year.

  15. Tom42 says:

sod wether or not their good enough, have you seen sonesos hair and wacthamacallhims beard…..pretty sure your getting into the realms of hairism there…’lets all look the same with a nice sharp short back and sides or at the most a skin head.’

  16. Tom42 says:

obviously im talking about so-and-sos hair, no idea who soneso is!but lets buy him, oh unless of course hes sporting (or spotting) features that dont adhire to your strict code of apperance
