Fabio Aurelio is going to be out of action for two weeks after picking up a calf strain in his left leg against Marseille. Yet again, Aurelio is injured. That has been the story of his Liverpool career. Whenever the Brazilian is getting into some bit of good form, he picks up an injury. I believe if Fabio had a full season with no injuries, he could easily become one of the best left backs in Europe. So now that we will be without our first choice left back for 2 weeks, that means Dossena is going to have to step in!

Another injury blow for Fernando Torres. Torres will be out of action for between 2 and 3 weeks after picking up another hamstring strain in the game against Marseille this week. This is already the third time that Torres has been forced onto the sidelines by his hamstring this season. This is now reminding me of the days when we had Michael Owen always out injured with his hamstring. What to do, what to do now!

Not a great game at all but we got the job done. A win, three points and qualification into the last 16 of the Champions League. It was great to have Steven Gerrard back in the team after his injury and it was Captain Fantastic who popped up with the only goal in the first half with a brilliant header from a Xabi Alonso cross.
We bossed the game in the first half and we should have gotten another goal to be sure but it was clear to see that Torres is not fully fit and firing on all cylinders. And this morning I am now hearing that Torres has suffered a potential injury to the same hamstring again. I just hope it is not that serious and he will be back for the game against West Ham on Monday as we need him to be match fit for the rest of the season.

After Liverpool fired another blank at home to Fulham on Saturday, I think it is time we get another attacking option which could get us the goals when Torres is having an off day. And one name that makes perfect sense and would fit the bill is Thierry Henry. I know this may sound like Fantasy Football stuff but can you imagine how deadly a combination of Gerrard, Henry and Torres could be?

Yet again, another frustrating game for the Reds. A game one would have expected us to win but as been the case for most parts of this season, we have failed to find the back on the net against teams who come out to defend against us at Anfield. With Torres back in the starting lineup I thought that we would find the cutting edge no matter if Fulham defended with all they had. I was shocked when I saw the teams walk out onto the pitch and I saw that Lucas was starting and Alonso was on the bench.

On paper, you would expect Liverpool to get 3 points in the game tomorrow against Fulham at Anfield but I believe there is no such thing as an easy game in the Premiership anymore. But with that said, I still expect us to win. My only concern is that Fulham may come to Anfield and defend for 90 minutes and frustrate us. We have seen many teams come to Anfield and do that this season and at times we have been left short and failed to get the breakthrough. But against Fulham we have a certain Fernando Torres expected to make his long awaited comeback into the starting lineup.

I was just reading an article which suggests that Lazio are after Javier Mascherano and that they could want to sign him as early as January. I could not help but laugh as I read this. Do they honestly think Liverpool would want to sell one of the best, if not the best, holding midfielder in the world? Secondly, would Mascherano himself want to leave Liverpool and join a lesser team such as Lazio? I do not think so.

There had been reports on Russian television this week that Martin Skrtel is not happy at Liverpool and is looking to leave the club. But Rafa has come out today and reassured us that everything is well with Skrtel and the player has not intentions of leaving Liverpool.
Rafa said, “I was talking with Martin at Melwood yesterday and it was clear that he is very happy and just wants to get back playing. He is working very hard to get himself fit again and he is very settled at Liverpool – both in the city and at the club.”

Reports this morning are suggesting that Yossi is not happy with playing a bit-part role for Liverpool and wants to be playing more soon or else he will leave the club. It is clear to see where Yossi is coming from, he clearly wants to be playing more than just coming off the bench. I am sure every single player at the club wants to start every game but there are only eleven places up for grabs and about 30 players vying for those eleven places.

I can not believe what Capello made Stevie G do! If a player is said to be injured by his club then surely the national team coach should accept that! Yes, there are some instances where clubs ‘lie’ to national squads that a player is injured but can Capello questions Gerrard’s integrity? Stevie would do anything to play for England, that is just the player he is. He gives 110% into all he does. So for Capello to ask the player to travel to London to be assessed by the England medical team is just mind blowing!
