Forget about David Silva

Tagged Under :

I guess we can now almost officially say that David Silva will not be joining Liverpool anytime soon. The Spanish winger has signed a new contract with Valencia. I had previously hoped that Silva would be offloaded by Valencia and he could come to Liverpool to link up with his fellow Spanish mates and form part of what could be the most lethal strike force in Europe with Keane and Torres. But now that dream looks over.

Now that Silva is no longer an option and Barry looks almost certain to stay at Aston Villa if he plays for Aston Villa in the UEFA cup tonight. Where does this now leave Rafa in the transfer market? I believe Rafa will still be a player or two short and thus he still has to go out and buy someone else this summer. With the squad we have right now we can challenge but I am not too confident, especially based by last nights ‘weak’ performance against Standard Liege. This leaves the possibility of Joe Cole coming to Liverpool. Joe Cole’s move largely depends on Chelsea’s ability to sign Robhino from Real Madrid. If Robhino goes to Chelsea, then I am pretty sure Joe Cole will be sold.
